How does the WT feel about dating methods?
by Christ Alone ini'm talking about dating methods that scientists use such as carbon 14, potassium-argon, rehydoxylation dating, etc.... .
i know that many christian fundamentalist groups speak of how false early dates can be reached by many of these dating systems.
but i was wondering how much the wt rejects them.

That would depend on whether the dating method used supported or refuted whatever the point was the WT was trying to make.
You beat me to it. It's only reliable if it doesn't contradict what they're teaching.

Nativity display lawsuit: Atheists vs. Christians
by Scott77 ingillian flaccus from the associated press reports on november 19, 2012 in the christian science monitor that 'the atheist's anti-god message alongside a life-sized nativity display in a park overlooking the beach [has] ignited a debate that burned brighter than any christmas candle... http://www.csmonitor.com/usa/latest-news-wires/2012/1119/nativity-display-lawsuit-atheists-vs.-christians-in-santa-monicahttp://www.csmonitor.com/usa/latest-news-wires/2012/1119/nativity-display-lawsuit-atheists-vs.-christians-in-santa-monica.
what is your reaction to this lawsuit?

I lean towards Athesim but my motto is if you don't like it, don't look!
Same here. Sometimes you just have to pick your battles.

New James Bond Film: Skyfall
by leavingwt ini had an opportunity to see skyfall in the theater yesterday.
it's almost as good as casino royale, with some parts of it being even better.
the opening sequence was a real thrill, one of the best.

Timothy Dalton just always looked UNCOMFORTABLE. Stick to Heathcliff and more intense roles, man!
I agree he was too serious, long term. That intensity worked for him in License to Kill, because it was darker than most Bond films. Living Daylights, not so much.

The mushrooms on Patmos are rather nice
You beat me to it. I've always suspected that John's "revelation" was nothing more than a drug-induced hallucination. The world's first recorded acid trip.

The "Kingdom Proclaimer's Book" Who Wrote This Pile of "Sht"?
by ÁrbolesdeArabia ini got coc in the mail yesterday, i am almost done with the book and after using franz's notes with old magazines, i believe he is not a power hungry, man who i was taught went insane from burn-out!.
i love his updated edition he left us before he passed away, he takes the k.p.

The Proclaimers book was nothing more than damage control, to offset a lot of negative information that came out about them in the 80's, from Raymond Franz, and other "apostates". It enabled them to put their own whitewashed spin on their history, while maintaining the illusion of transparency by acknowledging misdeeds that were already a matter of public record.

Venting some rage and pain.
by jemba inmy father the coboe and much loved member of the cult has ignored me and my children 17yrs and 8yrs old for much of my life and all of my kids lives.
i hate that religion for taking my father away and i hate him for being sucked in and putting all his love, time and kindness into the org and the stupid dubs and leaving himself too tired and uninterested in us.
my kids dont have grandparents, my mum is ok, she rings me once a month but kinda ignores my kids, just gives em $50 each a yr as a substitute for love and attention.. .

Sorry to hear of this :( Another heartbreaking example of the conditional love JWs have, even for their own families.

As a Jehovah's Witness, how did you feel about the prospect of god killing millions of babies & children?
by jambon1 ini've got to say that it repulsed me.. yet, i knew one brother/elder who always commented that he wanted 'to see the wicked being destroyed.'.
twisted beyond belief..

It wasn't just children, though that didn't sit well with me either. It was the prospect of God killing billions of people whose biggest sin was that they rejected JWs when they came uninvited to their homes. I couldn't believe that people's salvation, and their children's, by extension, could depend on how they responded to awkwardly delivered religious presentations given at their doorstep.

Neighborhood doesn't want new kh there
by Left in the Cold inhttp://www.fox59.com/news/wxin-college-park-jehovas-witnesses-community-fights-to-keep-jehovahs-witnesses-out-of-neighborhood-20121107,0,5339745.column.
the story is mostly about a neighborhood in indianapolis fighting to keep a kh from being built in their neighborhood, but as is common, the entertainment is in the comments below the article.
i thought i'd share.

This should make them even more popular when they go door-to-door in the community.

No love for Michael Bay :)
Seriously, though. Stanley Kubrick, Alfred Hitchcock, John Huston. In more recent years- Spielberg, Tarantino, Christopher Nolan.
